Spotlight on Entrepreneurs Making an Impact with Sustainability
Introducing the recipients of the 2022 University of Pennsylvania's President's Sustainability Prize: Julia Yan and Sarah Beth Gleeson , the founders of Baleena. Their company specializes in creating filtration devices aimed at addressing microplastic fiber pollution in the fashion industry. These innovative filters seamlessly merge with household washing machines, effectively trapping harmful fibers with each cycle, catering to eco-conscious consumers.
In recognition of Arab American Heritage Month, we highlight Moneer Azzam, CEO of Beacon Climate Innovations, renowned for sustainable infrastructure and renewable energy solutions.
